Endwall Framing
Endwall frame is usually designed with only half the design load of a typical bay to reduce the cost
of the building. There are two main types of endwall frames, each is used according to the building
function.
1- Post and Beam:
It is commonly used and consists of light-rolled sections. All connections are pinned. Stability of
the system is acquired by bracing system.
2- Typical Rigid Frame:
To be used in the following cases
• If there is a future extension along the building from this end (in this case frame is designed on
full load).
• Where there is a crane runway at the end bay.
• If the building end is required to be fully opened for access to the building.
